Offer a new challenge on the Hickory. This structure mixes together equipment for both younger and older elementary school aged children at a mid-sized height. The climbers vary from simple to challenging. At ground level, children can play at the Labyrinth Panel or have a chat with a friend in the Chatter Bugs in the shade. Once they're ready to explore, a set of steps make heading upwards easier for little ones. For a bit more challenge they can make their way up the rope ladder with rungs. If that's not enough, they can increase the intensity a bit more with the vertical metal climber that sprouts up to an upper deck. For the highest levels of difficulty, they can climb up the vertical rock wall to the top deck or climb on the Climbing Wall nearby. Once reaching the upper levels, they can look out the Bubble Panel. Finally, they can take the Spiral Slide back down to the bottom to start again.
When choosing a playground it is important to consider where the components have come from. Conditioned wood or recycled metal posts are both opportunities to take part in environmental stewardship. Wood was once a staple of playground design, but as time has continued, it has become less common. But, wood and natural materials make for natural learning environments that can be important for childrens development. Several teaching methods use nature and natural tools as ways to reach children. On the other hand, the recycled metal used comes from items that would otherwise rust away in dumps. The recycled plastic comes from specifically milk jugs. As Americans, we tend to drink a large amount of milk every day. This results in millions of used milk contains every year. Even if the play set purchased only uses a few thousand of those milk jugs, its that many more that didnt end up in a landfill. Your playground purchase can be part of the solution that limits waste.
